SUKKUR:

Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Sirajul Haq predicts that the federal and provincial governments will not be able to complete their terms, because they have failed to meet the expectations of the people.

He was addressing a press conference at Rohri’s Beri Chowk on Monday evening.

Criticising the federal and provincial governments, he said that their attitude was neither democratic nor political, and they were harming themselves. The JI chief also blamed the Sindh government for the deteriorating law and order situation in the province, adding that criminals were being harboured by influential people.

According to Sirajul Haq, political pundits and actors had been cheating the nation for the last 65 years. He stressed the need to end the politics of hypocrisy once and for all, adding that cheats should be held accountable for their actions. He called upon the people to oppose those who had come to take politics and elections as a business enterprise.

The JI chief announced he will present an agenda for the people at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore on November 21. The agenda will be for the prosperity of the poor, youth, labourers and peasants.

“I will launch the Pakistan movement from Minar-e-Pakistan on November 21 and people from all walks of life will be invited to participate,” he said.

Haq added that political leaders should refrain from levelling allegations against each other at rallies.

“I have good relations with the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam leaders and if there is a problem, we talk it out.” He claimed that the youth was against the current system and were looking for positive change. “The people of Pakistan want to end corruption in the country,” he said.
